This morning I was reading other people's blogs - specifically ones with lots of great games, chemistry sets, beautiful maps and posters on the walls, every book I ever dreamed of on their shelves, and many other very fancy learning tools - and feeling all sorry for myself because we don't have those things.
And then Lu calls up to me -
"Mama, come play a game of pool."

ReplyDeleteYou do the best with what you can and it's enough. The fancy resources are just icing on the cake. And sometimes only the decorations on the cake! They are nice, in the way that a new dress is nice, but hardly essential. And too many of the nice things deprive us of the ability to think and create and make do! If you have food, shelter, bedding, love, books and an outdoor world, you are rich in resources indeed. Lu, your pool table is awesome!
