We're now doing 3 history lessons weekly. Most lessons consist of reading 5-8 pages, answering questions (together) in notebook, and drawing timelines. Here are some that I prepared in photoshop as visual aids for our class (and also just to figure it out in my own head before trying to teach it).

We spent quite a while understanding the numbers -
the scale, inches representing millions of years,
what a million or a billion years actually are...
so it ended up being a very mathematical history lesson.
